Its time to try something different.

An experiment in fundraising

This experiment aims to see if we can raise significant money for local charities without ever asking anyone to give a cent.

We want to ask people, families, households, and even companies to save and donate their valuable waste. First, we only want to collect empty aluminum cans, specifically beverage containers.

All the raised funds will go to helping at-risk and underprivileged youth in our community. We want to help supply them with what they need to become well-adjusted adults, whether basic toiletries, educational supplies, or enabling access to medical and psychological support services.

If you're interested in participating, there are a few rules that you will need to follow.

  • Please put all collected cans in a clear, full-sized garbage bag only. We cannot accept donations in any other type of bag.

  • Please make sure that all of your beverage containers are aluminum.

    • One steel or aluminum food container will cause the bag to be rejected. If we drop off too many, the scrapper we go to will no longer accept our submissions.

  • The cans need not be crushed, but please ensure they are empty first.

  • If you will help by donating your empty alcohol cans, please ensure they are in a different bag than the non-alcoholic cans. This way, we can return them rather than scrap them.

We will not store, sort, or separate any gathered materials. Once the donations are collected, they will go straight to the scrappers to help us keep this experiment efficient and effective.

Thank you so much for joining and helping us out.
